How should a med spa answer "How much is Botox?"
By the clinickit team · Last updated October 30, 2026
Reply in the same channel with how your clinic shares pricing, why the figure varies if it does, and how to book. State a number only if the clinic approved it for that message.
What should the reply include?
A good reply does three jobs. It says how your clinic shares pricing. It explains why the figure varies, if it does. It gives one clear way to book.
Answer in the channel where the question arrived. If it came by Instagram DM, reply by DM. If it came by text, reply by text. Asking someone to call before you answer can feel like a dodge.
Keep the reply short. The person asked one question, so answer that question before you offer anything else.
When is it fine to give a number?
Give a number only when the clinic has approved that number for that message. A figure on your website is not approval for a text reply. The figure may have changed, or it may carry conditions that a short message leaves out.
Settle this once, in writing, so the front desk never has to guess. Name who approves pricing language. Name where the current figures live. Then each team member can give the same answer on a busy day.
What can you say for each pricing approach?
Start from how your clinic actually handles pricing. Use the row that matches, and replace each bracket with wording your clinic has approved.
| If your clinic | Say |
|---|---|
| Publishes a price | "Our current price is [APPROVED PRICE], and you can see it at [WHERE IT IS PUBLISHED]. To book, [BOOKING STEP]." |
| Shares pricing at consultation | "We share pricing at your consultation, because [YOUR CLINIC'S REASON]. To book one, [BOOKING STEP]." |
| Charges a consultation fee | "A consultation is [APPROVED FEE], and [HOW THE FEE IS APPLIED]. We go over pricing at that visit. To book, [BOOKING STEP]." |
What does a finished reply look like?
Here is one reply for a clinic that charges a consultation fee. The question arrived by Instagram DM.
Thanks for asking. At Willow Lane Aesthetics, we go over pricing at your consultation, because each plan is set with you in person. The consultation fee is $75, and it is credited toward treatment. To book, call (828) 555-0100 or reply here with a good day for you.
Notice what this reply does. It thanks the person, explains the process, states the one figure the clinic approved, and gives two ways to book. It makes no comment on the person and no comment on results.
What should you leave out?
- An unapproved figure, including a rough range or a number from memory.
- An unauthorized discount, even a small one offered to be helpful.
- Any promise about results.
- Any patient information, including what another person paid or had done.
What if the person keeps asking for a number?
Stay friendly and repeat the process. Say you understand they want a figure. Then restate how your clinic shares pricing and offer the booking step again. Do not reach for a number to end the conversation.
What if the message also asks a medical question?
Do not answer it in the pricing reply. Tell the person that someone qualified at the clinic can talk it through with them, and explain how to arrange that. Then pass the question to that team member.
Who should check your wording?
Have your wording checked against your state's rules before your team uses it. Your own attorney or advisor is the right person to ask. This is a writing guide, not medical or legal advice.
Save the approved replies where the front desk can find them. Review them whenever a fee or a booking step changes.
